I will only collect and use personal data in ways that are described in this policy. I have strict policies and procedures in place to protect your data when you send it to me, and when I process it to provide you with the services you have requested.
The data you provide me will be used only for the efficient provision of agreed upon services and it will not be shared with anyone else unless explicitly stated in this document.
I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, the regulator of the Data Protection Act 1998 and abide by its requirements.

This Privacy Policy outlines Great Expectations Education’s practices with respect to information collected from users who access my website at greatexpectationseducation.uk (”Site“) or otherwise share personal information with me (collectively: ”Users“).
Responsible authority within the meaning of data protection laws, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): United Kingdom.

WHY DO I COLLECT YOUR DATA?
Processing of your personal information (i.e. any information which may potentially allow your identification through reasonable means; hereinafter ” Personal Information “) is necessary for the performance of our contractual obligations towards you and providing you with my services, to protect our legitimate interests and for compliance with legal and financial regulatory obligations to which I are subject.
When you use the Site, you consent to the collection, storage, use, disclosure and other uses of your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.
I may collect your data for the following reasons:
To communicate with you as a response to an email, web enquiry, text or telephone call;

WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED?
I collect two types of data and information from Users.
The first type of information is unidentified and non-identifiable information pertaining to a User(s), which may be made available or gathered via your use of the Site (“ Non-personal Information ”). I am not aware of the identity of a User from which the Non-personal Information was collected. Non-personal Information which is being collected may include your aggregated usage information and technical information transmitted by your device, including certain software and hardware information (e.g. the type of browser and operating system your device uses, language preference, access time, etc.) in order to enhance the functionality of this Site. I may also collect information on your activity on the Site (e.g. pages viewed, online browsing, clicks, actions, etc.).
The second type of information is Personal Information, which is individually identifiable information, namely information that identifies an individual or may with reasonable effort identify an individual. Such information includes:
Device Information: I collect Personal Information from your device. Such information includes geolocation data, IP address, unique identifiers (e.g. MAC address and UUID) and other information which relates to your activity through the Site.
Registration information: When you register with my Site, or complete a form on the Site, you will be asked to provide me certain details such as: full name; email or physical address, and other information.
Payment informationFor tuition purposes:
Personal information – contact details (email address, phone numbers and home address), name of student and parent
Age, date of birth, year group, school attended
Anything else the parent feels is relevant to private tuition e.g. information about medical conditions, allergies, special educational needs including diagnosed learning difficulties
Information about difficulties experienced, early life, school information
Assessment scores, writing assessments, copies diagnostic report provided by parents.
Details of regular session booked
I will also keep records of your child’s sessions with me in the form of notes, lesson plans, and some marked work. This information is stored either as paper copies or electronically and will not be shared with any third parties unless I am legally required to do so. Names, phone numbers and email addresses are stored in my email contacts and on a spreadsheet on my password protected computer and pass code protected mobile phone. Paper copies are stored in a locked filing cabinet.
HOW IS YOUR INFORMATION RECEIVED?
I receive your Personal Information from various sources:
When you voluntarily provide me with your personal details in order to register on my Site
When you use or access our Site in connection with your use of my services
When you voluntarily provide me with hard copies of any of the above data, or via telephone, sms or email
From third-party providers, services and public registers (for example, traffic analytics such as Google or Facebook)
HOW IS THE INFORMATION USED?
I do not rent, sell or share Users’ information with third parties, except as described in this Privacy Policy.
I may use the information for the following:
Communicating with you – sending you notices regarding my services, providing you with technical information and responding to any customer service issue you may have
To communicate with you and to keep you informed about our latest updates and services
To serve you advertisements when you use our Site (see more under “Advertisements”)

In addition to the purposes listed in this Privacy Policy, I may share Personal Information with my trusted third-party providers, who may be located in different jurisdictions across the world, for any of the following purposes:

I will not share this information without permission from the parents – or tutee, if over 18, unless I am legally required to do so. On occasions, I may share sections of a teaching materials or data that has been anonymised and any identifying information removed, amongst professionals for the purpose of appraisal, evaluation, sharing good practice or training. I may share anonymised reports with PATOSS for their evaluation and assessment.
HOW LONG DO I KEEP YOUR DATA?
I will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide my services, and as necessary to comply with my legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our policies. I will comply with the legal requirement to destroy outdated, unused or unnecessary information at the earliest reasonable opportunity. This will vary depending on the services provided. If you have subscribed to my website I keep your data until you no longer want to remain on the list. You can unsubscribe at any time. I keep copies of assessment reports, (stored electronically), and test papers for the time required by law and as advised by our professional bodies. This may vary over time, but at the time of writing this policy it is until the learner is aged 25. I keep the details of those who have received tuition for a year after tuition has ceased.
I may rectify, replenish or remove incomplete or inaccurate information, at any time and at my own discretion.
Under GDPR, the data subject has the right to access and amend any of their personal data that I hold. You are entitled to view, amend, or delete the personal information that I hold. Email your request to greatexpectationsed@gmail.com
It is assumed that on completing the details on my terms and conditions, you consent to me holding the information about your child on file until 12 months after tuition with me ends.
For child protection reasons, I meet you, as the parent, before tuition begins and ask for your consent to hold information for your child and permission to tutor. Communication regarding booking, invoicing etc. between myself and you is via email, and occasionally text message or phone call.
The GDPR introduces a duty on all organisations to report certain types of data breach to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), and in some cases, to individuals. In the event of a data breach, I will notify the ICO of a breach where it is likely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals – if, for example, it could result in discrimination, damage to reputation, financial loss, loss of confidentiality or any other significant economic or social disadvantage.
COOKIES
This Site uses cookies and other technologies in my related services, including when you visit my Site or access my services.
A “cookie” is a small piece of information that a website assigns to your device while you are viewing a website. Cookies are very helpful and can be used for various different purposes. Cookies do not contain any information that personally identifies you, but Personal Information that is stored about you may be linked, by this Site, to the information stored in and obtained from cookies. You may remove the cookies by following the instructions of your device preferences; however, if you choose to disable cookies, some features of our Site may not operate properly and your online experience may be limited.
I use a tool which is based on the Google Analytics technology to collect information about your use of the Site. The tool collects information such as how often users access the Site, which pages they visit when they do so, etc. The tool does not collect any Personal Information and is only used by my Site hosting and operating service provider to improve the Site and services.
HOW IS YOUR INFORMATION SAFEGUARDED?
Great care is taken in implementing and maintaining the security of the Site and your information. I require any third party to comply with similar security requirements, in accordance with this Privacy Policy . I store the information collected about you electronically and on paper. Electronic data is kept in a secure GoogleDrive account. Hard copies of documents are stored securely in a locked filing cabinet. Although I take reasonable steps to safeguard information, I cannot be responsible for the acts of those who gain unauthorised access or abuse our Site, and I make no warranty, express, implied or otherwise, that I can always prevent such access. When you engage in my services I use email or file sharing to transfer data, using password protection if it contains sensitive or highly confidential information. After you use my services, I may reach out asking you to provide feedback via my website. This feedback is optional and any information you provide will stored securely in the manner detailed above.
THIRD-PARTY COLLECTION OF INFORMATION
This policy only addresses the use and disclosure of information I collect from you. To the extent you disclose your information to other parties or sites throughout the internet, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the information you disclose to them. Accordingly, I encourage you to read the terms and conditions and privacy policy of each third party that you choose to disclose information to.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that I do not own or control, nor to individuals whom I do not employ or manage, including any of the third parties which I may disclose information to as set out in this Privacy Policy.

I may use your Personal Information such as your name, email address, telephone number, etc. for the purpose of providing you with promotional materials concerning my services which I believe may interest you.
To respect your right to privacy, within such marketing materials I provide you with the means to opt out of receiving further marketing offers from me. If you unsubscribe, I will remove your email address or telephone number from my marketing distribution lists.

Under no circumstances shall I allow the use of my services by minors without prior consent or authorisation by a parent or legal guardian. The last revision will be reflected in the “Last modified” section. Your continued use of the Platform, following the notification of such amendments on this website, constitutes your acknowledgment and consent of such amendments to the Privacy Policy and your agreement to be bound by the terms of such amendments.
